Benny Golson: The new album from sax legend and Grammy Lifetime Achievement award winner Benny Golson hits stores this week via Concord Jazz (CD & digital).
New Time, New ‘Tet is Golson’s first new studio recording in five years and elaborates the traditional jazztet concept; combining Golson’s new compositions with standard jazz repertoire. The album features classics like Thelonious Monk’s “Epistrophy”, Sonny Rollins’ “Airegin,” and Grammy-winning vocalist Al Jarreau reprises Golson’s classic “Whisper Not.”
